"Maltego- Link analysis"
What do you like best?
It is a one-of-a-kind tool with a wide range of capabilities. The ability to show relationships between entities on the internet is what I like best about it. It accomplishes this by mining open sources and publicly available data. This enables me to quickly gather information on individuals or organizations of interest. Maltego is also very user-friendly and can be easily customized to meet my requirements.What do you dislike?
There are a few things I dislike about Maltego. The first is that it can be a bit overwhelming and complex for first-time users. There are a lot of features and it can be hard to know where to start. Additionally, the interface isn't always the most user-friendly. It can be difficult to find the information you're looking for, and the layout isn't always intuitive. Finally, the search function could be better. It's not always easy to find what you're looking for, and the results aren't always accurate.What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Maltego in our organization to summarise subject online footprints, such as which social media platforms they use. We may even link the entire data by highlighting the relevant information, such as which information is associated with each unique entity. The entities are represented on the application by various social media names and icons, so our client quickly learns that this person is active on well-known platforms.

"Maltego - A complete link analysis software"
What do you like best?
Maltego is a complete link analysis tool for investigators with insane amount of entities with features like collaboration,importing entities which makes life everyday life easier for investigators. It can display 40pages of information into a single page graph with such clarification that everything can be understood even by a beginner.What do you dislike?
With insane amount of entities,it can be quite overwhelming at times to find out what you are looking for.Although its easy to understand to a beginner but is quite troublesome to work upon as a beginner.What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organisation uses maltego for link analysis to display data of an investigation in a much structured manner. In some cases, its very difficult for a person to provide a 20 pages written report which can confuse clients and maltego serves as a tool with which a single graph can explain the whole report or can help to bring in more clarification to the Analyst. "Maltego - A work hack for all the Investigators/researchers"
What do you like best?
As an investigator who deals with information that can be painful to sort out, Maltego helps me sorting out connections to entities that make my daily work life a lot easier.What do you dislike?
Entities - Importing entities sometimes can be complicated, considering you deal with a lot of icons that need to be easily distinguishable. Also, working on different charts at once can cause it to slow down. In case it crashed once, there is no way to recover the changes that you made.Recommendations to others considering the product:
Maltego is a powerful tool with the power to take an unprecedented amount of information and mapping it to a chart that can be covered in 1 page. If you had to summarise a 20-page report into one chart, it is highly recommendableWhat problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I map out the risk parameters in an investigation that can consist of social media screenings, open adverse media, court records, reviews, or threats, and it might be the absolute necessary software that is used by our company almost every day. Save this Review
